Hi! I'm

My Journey

As a veterinary professional and mother, I've had to juggle many responsibilities throughout my life. My career in veterinary medicine has been fulfilling but demanding, often requiring long hours, multitasking, and sacrificing basic needs like breaks and meals.

While privileged to do work I love for nearly 20 years, the demands of the job took a toll on my mental health. In my forties, I've been reappraising my identity beyond just being a vet, exploring other aspects of myself.

I graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2005 and have worked in small animal practice since, completing a GpCert in Small Animal Medicine in 2014. In 2016, I struggled with overwhelming feelings from work and personal circumstances.

Despite a supportive lifestyle of exercise, healthy eating, being outdoors, family and friends, I still battled stress, anxiety and an inability to live in the moment. Discovering mindfulness became a lifeline, helping me manage those feelings and regain calm and clarity.

In 2022, I decided to train as a Mindfulness teacher so that I could introduce Mindfulness to others and help them too.  I trained through the Mindfulness Now teacher programme and am an accredited teacher on the Mindfulness teachers register mindfulnessteachers.org.uk.

I have also completed additional training in teaching Mindfulness to children of all ages which not only helps with my parenting skills but also is great fun and very rewarding working with children.

Areas of Expertise

Aimee’s empathetic, kind and caring nature provides teaching in a fun, low pressure, calming environment.

Through the organisation she has trained with (Mindfulness Now) she continues to learn up to date methods of teaching mindfulness through structured CPD courses and supervision sessions with her tutors.

There is always a focus on how to bring mindfulness easily into one’s life and through her own experiences Aimee makes invaluable suggestions and exercises that can be used in everyday situations and when you have only a few seconds to spare!
